Brentwood, Tenn. – Softspikes® claimed its 18th victory in 20 events on the PGA Tour in 2024 this past Sunday, with the winner of THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson securing a maiden Tour title wearing PINS spikes in his adidas golf shoes.
After relinquishing his lead on the 71st hole, the 32-year-old Canadian immediately bounced back with a birdie on the final hole to record a final round 67 that would prove enough to win his first title in 74 starts. With 36 of the top 40 finishers at TPC Craig Ranch choosing to wear spikes over spikeless shoes, it was yet another dominant week for players taking advantage of the performance benefits of replaceable traction.
On the PGA Tour Champions it was another victory for Softspikes, with the winner of the Insperity Invitational wearing Pulsar spikes in his FootJoy HyperFlex golf shoes.
“As the weeks pass we are seeing a consistent stream of the best players in the world claiming the biggest titles in the game while equipped with Sofstpikes in their golf shoes and we were delighted to see this trend continue in Texas on Sunday,” commented Joe Henderson, President, Softspikes.
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
