2019-20 PGA Tour Kicks Off with A Win for Cleated Footwear

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Sept. 16, 2019 – The new PGA Tour season kicked off just like last season ended, with a player claiming victory in replaceable cleats. The 20-year-old, first-time winner on the PGA Tour posted a six-stroke victory at A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier wearing adidas® Tour 360 footwear with Thintech XP replaceable cleats. On the final leaderboard, 18 of the top 23 finishers wore replaceable cleats from PrideSports® brands Softspikes® and Champ®.

“We’re off and running on a new PGA Tour season, and another young player has earned a career-defining victory wearing replaceable cleats,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “The stability, traction and control provided by cleated footwear makes a difference, and the leaderboards each weekend continue to prove it.”

On the other professional tours, the winner of the European Tour’s KLM Open wore adidas® Adipower 4orged footwear with Thintech EXP cleats, and the winner of the Champions Tour Ally Challenge claimed victory in FootJoy® Tour S shoes with Softspikes® Cyclone replaceable cleats.

Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.

PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP and Softspikes brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.

CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.Softspikes.com.
