Sonartec Records Three Top-10’s in Second Consecutive Event

Carlsbad, California – October 24, 2005; Last week at the Funai Classic in Florida, the defending champion earned a third place tie, heading up a list of three players who collected Top-10 finishes while playing Sonartec. It was the second consecutive event in which Sonartec collected at least three Top-10 finishes, and the third time in the last five events. Sonartec has now earned 62 Top-10 finishes in the 2005 PGA Tour season.

The defending champion played a Sonartec SS-3.5 Deep-Faced Fairway Wood through out the event. He played well in his return to the site of his only career PGA Tour win, never shooting higher than a 70 in any of the four rounds. His eight-under-par 64 on Sunday tied for the third-lowest round of the week, and was enough to bring him within two strokes of the lead. It was his second Top-10 finish of the 2005 season.

"Sonartec congratulates the three players who earned Top-10 finishes at the Funai Classic," said Sonartec Vice President of Sales Bob Gotfredson. "All three played very well, and the fact that each of them played a different club speaks volumes about the diversity our line offers."

Tying the defending champion for third place was the same player who earned a third place tie at last week’s Michelin Championship in Las Vegas. He played the Sonartec Md hybrid transition club in both events, and seems to be well on his way to a strong finish to the season. The eighth place finisher has also enjoyed success in 2005, earning his fifth Top-10 finish for the year at the Funai Classic while playing the NP-99 fairway wood.

Sonartec is a Carlsbad, California-based fairway wood and hybrid manufacturer. Their SS-3.5 deep-faced fairway wood has been named the top fairway wood by several testing agencies in 2005, including PGA Tour Partners Magazine and Pub Links Golfer Magazine. Meanwhile, the Md hybrid transition club was named "Tester’s Top Choice" by Golf Magazine in their 2005 Club Test issue.
