PUTTING ARC TRIBUTE TO KENNY MCDONALD

April 17, 2024

With great sadness I report the passing of long-time Putting Arc Tour Rep Kenny McDonald.

Ken McDonald represented the Putting Arc on all of the professional tours in the United States for almost 15 years. He was responsible for getting this product into the hands of well over 500 touring pros, and many of the contestants in the recent Masters got their Putting Arcs from Ken.

He grew up in North Carolina and was on the golf team at Campbell College when they won the National Championship in their division. A fellow teammate was the late Doug London, a talented golf artist.

Ken was a big fan of Pistol Pete, and spent many an hour on the road driving to watch Pistol Pete play whenever he had a game within driving distance of Campbell College.

Ken originally worked as an assistant PGA pro on Long Island and Jupiter Island and one of the junior golfers he taught was Michael Breed, when this highly acclaimed TV/radio golf instructor was a young golfer on Long Island.

There was no better way to spend an evening that to sit around a good meal at my house with Ken and my wife Mag, and listen to Ken tell stories of his life on the Tour. His caddy nickname was Three Tour Kenny, because he occasionally worked all three pro tours in the same week, when they were within driving distance of each other. His favorite caddy nickname (and mine) was Portolet. When I asked Ken why this caddy was called Portolet, he said because he was big and full of **it.

Ken is survived by his daughter Caroline, and his wishes can best be fulfilled by sending a donation to Caroline McDonald at GoFundMe.com

Kenny, his great stories, work ethic, work skills and warm smile will be greatly missed by all of us. Rest in peace, Kenny Mac! – Dave & Mag
